PATRICIA ROUTLEDGE HAS A MESESAGE FOR KEEPING UP APPEAEANCES FANS

The amazing Patricia Routledge, 95, is amazed and grateful for the enduring popularity of Keeping Up Appearances, even over 30 years plus after it first aired. She appreciates all the fans who have kept the show alive and cherished Hyacinth Bucket.
When asked how she got the role of Hyacinth, she answered:
"I was sent a pile of scripts by the director. I read them and immediately thought to myself: I can net this woman up. It was very clear to me what she was and that I could really sink my teeth into the part. But I didn't expect it to take off the way it did."
Regarding any similarities between herself and Hyacinth, Patricia humorously replied:
"Apart from two arms, two legs, two eyes, a nose and a mouth, I sincerely hope not! It’s what acting’s all about. Just because I may play a murderer doesn’t mean I have to commit a murder – you just play a part."
Patricia's gratitude and reflections remind us why we love her and the unforgettable Hyacinth. Thank you, Patricia, for bringing such joy and laughter to our lives!

  Actor Terrence Hardiman who played The Keeping Up Appearnces in hit CBBC show  dies aged 86 Hardiman is survived by his wife Rowena and his two children Actor Terrence Hardiman, best known for portraying The Demon Headmaster, has died at the age of 86, his agent has said. Hardiman terrified a generation of children with his eponymous role in the 1990s, which saw the sinister schoolmaster remove his tinted glasses to hypnotise pupils, after telling them to 'look into my eyes'. He revealed in a 2019 interview how he happened to live near several schools in north London and that kids would often stop and stare at him in the street or shout at him.
