Michael Madsen speaks out following death of son Hudson

Michael Madsen, known for his roles in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill,” spoke about the heartbreaking loss of his son, Hudson, who tragically passed away from a gunshot wound to the head in January 2022 at the age of 26.

The Medical Examiner for the City and County of Honolulu classified it as a suspected suicide.

In a statement provided to Metro, the family conveyed their feelings of being “heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief,” and requested privacy during this difficult time.

Later, Madsen shared with The Los Angeles Times that he was in a state of shock, reminiscing about his last text from Hudson, which read: “I love you dad.”

Madsen remarked, “I didn’t see any signs of depression. He was looking forward to the future. It’s mind-blowing.”

He believes that Hudson faced challenges after enlisting in the Army, particularly after experiencing ridicule for seeking therapy.

Hudson was deployed in Afghanistan from August 2018 until January 2019 and was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.

He resided in Hawaii with his wife, Carlie, and Madsen noted that their marriage “was going strong.”

Rest in peace, Hudson.
